Morris and Watson offer superior precious metal refining services for manufacturing jewellers throughout Australasia and have done so for more than six decades.
To help get the most out of your refining, read through the helpful precious metal refining tips below:
Separate your silver where possible.
Remove large non-precious metal items from lemel to lower treatment charges and maximise refining returns.
Material like light bulbs, batteries, crucibles, tin cans etc. should not be placed in sweeps.
Separate lemel with a high proportion of platinum or palladium where possible. Refining jobs with high amounts of these metals are digested in acid to ensure accurate results.
Separate your lemel and/or scrap from your sweeps.
When sending handwash or sludge, filter out the liquid and air dry the materials to reduce shipment weight and treatment charges.
When posting refining directly to a Morris and Watson office please include the weight and way you would like the job processed (one, two or four metal refines) in the parcel.
